Every element of the Ignite program is purposefully designed, evidence-informed, and structured to help young leaders grow in ways that stay with them long after camp ends.
Experience first. Understanding second.
Every experience at Ignite is followed by a structured debrief led by expert facilitators. Young leaders reflect on what happened, what they felt, what they learned about themselves, and how to apply it in their everyday life.
This is experiential learning. It is one of the most effective ways to build real, transferable skills in young people and it is the foundation everything at Ignite is built on.

Ignite is built on three well-established frameworks from positive psychology.
Self-Determination Theory explores what drives human motivation. When young people feel competent, connected, and in control of their own choices, they thrive. Ignite is designed to create exactly that environment.
PERMA is a model of wellbeing developed by Martin Seligman that identifies five core elements of a flourishing life: Positive emotion, Engagement, Relationships, Meaning, and Accomplishment. Each of these is woven into how Ignite is structured and delivered.
Self-Efficacy Theory is about belief in your own ability to succeed. Research by Albert Bandura shows that when young people develop genuine confidence in their capabilities, they take on greater challenges and persist through difficulty. Building self-efficacy is at the heart of what Ignite does.
These frameworks have decades of research behind them and they shape every decision we make about how the program runs.

Each day at Ignite moves young leaders through a full cycle of learning. Sessions begin with the Branch of the Day, explored through facilitated content in the main room. Young leaders then apply that theme through activities, team challenges, and outdoor experiences before coming back together to debrief and reflect.
By evening, teams connect in small groups to process the day, share what they noticed, and support each other. Every day builds on the one before it and the program has a clear arc from day one through to day five.
Each day at Ignite is structured around two of our seven Branches of Life. These themes form the backbone of the program and give young leaders a language for understanding themselves, their relationships, and the world around them.Facilitators guide young leaders through each branch in the main sessions, then teams unpack what it means for them personally in smaller group time. The same themes are revisited throughout camp so the learning compounds over the five days.

Outdoor activities are a core part of the Ignite experience. Young leaders are challenged physically and mentally through hands-on activities in a safe and supported environment. These experiences are connected to the themes young leaders are exploring each day and debriefed with the same intention as every other session.

Many schools across Australia already partner with Ignite to give their students access to leadership development that goes beyond the classroom. From SRC members to quiet achievers, schools send young leaders to Ignite because they see the difference it makes when they come back. We would love to work with your school to give more students that opportunity.
