Give your students five days that change everything.

Ignite Leadership Camp gives Year 5 and 6 students the confidence, self-awareness, and leadership skills to come back to your school ready to lead. We work with schools across Australia to make that happen year after year.

What teachers notice when students come back.

The change is visible. Students who attended Ignite return to school with stronger peer relationships, greater confidence in taking on responsibility, and a clearer sense of who they are. Teachers and coordinators consistently report the same things.

What educators notice:

  • Increased confidence in leading self and others
  • Stronger peer connection and collaboration
  • Greater willingness to share their story with maturity and reflection
  • Increased agency and ownership of personal goals
  • A growing sense of purpose, contribution, and legacy
  • Greater awareness of servant leadership in action

Who do schools nominate?

There is no single profile of an Ignite young leader. Schools nominate students across a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. The right student is simply the one who is ready for the opportunity.Schools typically nominate from the following groups:

Student leadership teams
SRC members, school captains, house captains, and peer support leaders who are already stepping into influence and want to strengthen their leadership capacity.
Senior students preparing for greater responsibility
Year 5 and 6 students who are preparing to take on leadership roles within their school community and want the skills and confidence to do it well.
Students with strong potential
Students who may not hold a formal leadership title but show resilience, kindness, initiative, or influence among their peers. Ignite gives these students the environment to step up and be seen.
Students who would benefit from connection and confidence
Not every leader raises their hand. Some of the most powerful growth happens in students who simply need the right space to discover what they are capable of.
The School Partnership

Schools that nominate, keep nominating.

Many of Australia's leading schools send students to Ignite year after year. Not because they have to, but because they see what it does.

When your school becomes a nominating school, you are giving your students access to a program that has been developing young leaders for over a decade. And you are joining a community of educators who believe that leadership development at this age matters.

How It Works

Simple to nominate. Significant for your students.

Nominating a student for Ignite is straightforward. Before you do, we recommend having a quick chat with our team. We can help you identify which students would benefit most and how many spots makes sense for your school. We generally recommend nominating two students. Having a peer who shared the experience creates accountability and makes it easier for students to bring what they learned back into your school community.

The process:
1. Chat to our team about which students to nominate
2. Submit your nominations through our online nomination form
3. We review each application and notify nominees within seven days

Seven themes. Five days. One framework.

Each day at Ignite is structured around two of our seven Branches of Life. These themes form the backbone of the program and give young leaders a language for understanding themselves, their relationships, and the world around them.Facilitators guide young leaders through each branch in the main sessions, then teams unpack what it means for them personally in smaller group time. The same themes are revisited throughout camp so the learning compounds over the five days.

Messages
Students learn how their words, actions, and behaviour communicate who they are to the people around them.
Emotions
Students develop a stronger understanding of their emotions and how to use them as a tool for navigating relationships and challenges.
Kindness
Students explore what it means to be kind to themselves and others, in person and online, and why it matters.
Bounce Forward
Students develop resilience by learning to see challenges as opportunities for growth rather than reasons to stop.
Connection
Students build the skills to form meaningful, trust-based relationships with peers, family, and their wider community.
Values
Students identify what matters most to them and learn how to make decisions that align with those values.
Vision
Students clarify their goals and learn how to build a practical plan for moving toward them with confidence.

Every day is structured around two of our seven Branches of Life, covering themes including self-awareness, emotional regulation, values, connection, resilience, and vision. Sessions move between expert-led facilitation, team challenges, outdoor activities, and guided reflection.

A qualified Camp Nurse and Camp Counsellor are on site 24 hours a day. All staff and volunteers hold current Working With Children Checks.
